Founded in the glittering imperial city of Vienna almost two centuries ago, six generations have seen Lobmeyr remain a family-run company specialising in contemporary interpretations of classic glassware. As purveyors to the Austro-Hungarian empire’s ruling Habsburg family as well as numerous other European royals, Lobmeyr created luxury glassware and chandeliers, including the stunning installations at the Vienna State Opera and the Schonbrunn Palace.
Today, their exquisite creations are highly sought after for their attention to detail - every piece passes through at least 24 hands and four quality controls - the last always by a family member. Their signature hand blown ‘muslin’ glassware is literally as fine as cloth, with a thickness of just 0.7 - 1.1mm and a delicate mouth rim ensuring a sophisticated drinking experience imbued with the craftsmanship of true artisans. Combining traditional techniques with modern sensibilities, Lobmeyr creates refined and elegant glassware to delight the most demanding of connoisseurs.
