La Fayette Silver Plated
The La Fayette flatware, with sleek lines and garnished with pearls, was inspired by the time period Louis XVI.
The Louis XVI style extends until the end of the 18th century. Its lines tend to be sober, with dominant classical ornaments (pearls, ribbons, flutes). It rejects the sophisticated shapes of Louis XV and returns to the rigor of geometric shapes inspired, among others, by the discovery of the ancient ruins of Herculanum and Pompeii. The elements of ornamentation are also minimalist. They are symmetrically shaped and inspiration can be found in nature and antique themes. The shell completely disappeared at this time.
